A Childhood memory

One memory that I can’t ever forget was when, someone broke into my house. I remember I was wearing pajamas that my mom just had got me. We were all asleep except my dad. My dad had been working late.. When we were all asleep I heard a loud scream, then I heard another scream. I woke up and I started running to my sister’s room. As oi got into my sisters room I heard punches coming from the kitchen. I was going to run to the kitchen to check on it, my dad heard me running to the kitchen, until he said “call the police, someone broke in!”, then I told my sisters to call the police and then my mom came in with the house phone. When my sister was talking to the operator, the operator said “check if your dads okay.” I wanted to go check until my mom just yelled out “are you okay!”, and my dad said “yes.” As we were waiting for the cops to come. They came within 3 minutes. When they came in they asked for our names. As they left I was walking to the kitchen and I caught a glimpse of the guy who broke in. His eyes were red as if he hasn’t slept. When all the police was gone. I started walking around my house looking for things that the guy left behind. As I was looking I saw a shirt under my carpet & the oven was turned on. I think that I learned a lot from that night, I learned that I should not leave the door open. I also learned that I cannot trust people. For some reason I can’t really forget about this memory because I just remember how frightened I was.
